Color
All dyeing is done in small lots, and even within the same lot there will be some variation in color, saturation, and tonality. To blend multiple pieces within the same project: (1) always order the full amount needed in a single order and (2) alternate while working.
Commercial dyes are used and all fiber has been gently pre-washed to prevent colors from bleeding. However, some colors–especially more saturated or deep reds, blues, and turquoise–may still release dye when soaked. It is recommended to wash all hand-dyed yarns gently by hand and lay them flat to dry. When using highly contrasting colors within the same project, steam blocking is recommended to minimize possible color transfer.
Every effort is taken to faithfully represent the true colors in the finished product, including the use of photographic studio lighting and color cards, but viewing conditions and computer monitors (or smartphone screens) will vary.
Care
All spinning fiber, whether combed top or carded batt, is packaged in large resealable plastic bags. This keeps them easy to pull from and protected from snagging easily. All fiber is non-superwash and may felt if handled too much in warm water.
All items are produced and stored in a smoke-free home studio.
